Three Reasons why you should photograph your Child's first birthday.

It's been a year! A whirlwind in fact of year that seems to have flown by. So here are my top 3 reasons to photograph your baby's first birthday:

1 - You won't get this time back

 

Yes, just like your bump. If there's one thing I've learnt is the years tick by so quickly in this busy day and age. I now have a 16 year old but I still remember vividly her first birthday (the rest are rather fuzzy!). Not to say they weren't important but there's something about this milestone being achieved that really stuck with me. So just like my maternity sessions - let's mark this occasion.

2 - Your children

 

Your children will love these photographs and they will also love the stories behind the photos you have taken, as let's face it this will be one of the birthdays they definitely won't remember. They will laugh at them one day I promise.

3 - Cake 

​

There's Cake! Enough said! We all remember the weaning stage - the faces they pulled when they tasted something for the first time. They were great to capture, so this is similar - your little one's very first cake. They will love it or hate it - and despite the name very few actually smash the cake, most of the time it gets taken home in a little box to be eaten later. So there's no waste! Although if you are not a lover of cake there are alternatives. Fruit? Cheese?

So there you have it. My cake smash sessions usually last up to an hour, they include images of you and them, when the cake is introduced, and a baby bath too!
