Capturing Special Family Moments in Surrey -A Four-Generation Reunion to Remember

Last summer, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a truly heartwarming family reunion here in beautiful Surrey, England. Nineteen family members gathered together for a weekend filled with laughter, love, and celebration — spanning four generations, all under one roof.

The family had hired a gorgeous home for the weekend – a peaceful countryside retreat with lush gardens, perfect for natural and relaxed photography. I popped over for a couple of hours during the afternoon to capture both group portraits and candid moments in the garden. These are the kind of sessions I absolutely love — authentic, joyful, and full of life.

What made this particular day even more meaningful was that they were celebrating their great-grandmother’s 80th birthday. She was not only the heart of the family but also a photographer herself in her younger days, which made being asked to document the day even more special. There was something very moving about capturing her surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren — all sharing stories, hugs, and memories.
