It's that time of year again - September is around the corner. OK I'll admit, the past 5 months have felt very much like Ground Hog Day, so I'm very much looking forward to some normality returning. I never thought I'd actually look forward to the School run once more, but this is another thing the Covid 19 Pandemic has taught me - appreciate the mundane because it can all change in a heart beat.
School Mini Shoots - the nervous energy and the excitement for the new starters especially
The return of normality is something to be cherished. So whether your child is starting school for the first time or like my daughter finally heading back after 6 months of "Home Schooling" this is all something we should want to keepsake and capture.
Starting school – be it Nursery/Preschool, Primary, Junior or Secondary really is a special moment in your child’s life and one that I am honoured to be able to capture for families other than my own. My Starting School Mini Shoots are the perfect way to mark the occasion of your little one (or not so little as the case may be!) embarking on their exciting learning adventure. Capture the nervous excitement before they start as it truly is a once only moment.Â
I can’t believe a year has gone past already since my own little boy started school. This time last year we were busy buying shiny new shoes and a whole new uniform. I loved seeing how thrilled he was to be showing family and friends his new ‘grown up’ school gear and I am so pleased I got to capture the moment by photographing him before the big day!Â
Wind the clock back two years ago and I was photographing my daughter getting ready for her day at Secondary school! When your eldest ‘baby’ goes off to big school it really is emotional and seeing them look really grown up can easily bring tears to even the most hard-core mummy’s eyes! So again, I’m glad I captured that emotional milestone and that I got to share those images with family and friends. They actually made the ideal Christmas present!Â
Aside from a truly special keepsake (as let’s face it the uniform itself is going to get pretty worn out!) there is something hugely rewarding about seeing the child’s confidence grow as they smile for a photograph in their new uniform. Making them feel like a star in their new clothes will do wonders for giving them a boost.Â
Last year’s Starting School Mini Shoots were such a hit I’m offering more dates this year. That said, to make sure there is enough time between each shoot for a thorough cleaning of the studio*, slots are limited so please do book in quick. Bookings will be made on a first come basis.Â
The Starting School Mini Shoot costs just £25 for a 20 minute shoot and includes a complimentary 7×5″ print from your session.Â
Images will be taken against a cream backdrop. The photoshoot will take place at my private studio in Cobham and following the session I’ll email you a link to an online viewing gallery with 10 images to choose from. Should you wish further prints or digital images can be purchased as follows:
7 x 5″ print £12
10 x 8″ print £16
Digital high-resolution jpeg (sent via email) £10
